The enormous wealth in the Black Diamond industry is not shared. In this emotional painting, a woman reveals the hardship each day brings as she toils in the mines through her expression.  Every day, she and many like her contribute to someone's wealth while she and her colleagues live in poverty. Her image is surrounded by the gems she brings up from the earth. Even with her hardship behind her eyes we see a sense of dinity.
